Job summary

A recruitment consultancy seeks a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician for a permanent position in Wallsend. In this role, you will ensure the reliability of plant machinery through both planned and reactive maintenance. Key responsibilities include coordinating daily operations, promoting health and safety, and tackling breakdowns efficiently. The ideal candidate has mechanical or electrical qualifications and experience in a fast-paced heavy engineering environment. This role operates on a 2-shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have worked in a maintenance role previously within heavy engineering/manufacturing.
• PLC experience would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance to the required standard.
• Perform reactive maintenance when required.
• Coordinate with production supervision for smooth running of plant and equipment.
• Promote best health and safety practices.
• Help reduce function accident statistics.

Skills

Mechanical or Electrical qualification HNC or equivalent

Experience in maintenance role within heavy engineering/manufacturing

Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician for a client based in Wallsend on a permanent contract. As Maintenance Technician you will work as part of a team to ensure all plant and machinery is available and reliable on site. Tending to breakdowns in a fast and efficient manner minimising downtime.

Main responsibilities

• To carry out planned maintenance to the required standard.
• To carry out reactive maintenance when required
• To be able to coordinate and cooperate with production supervision on a day to day basis, to ensure the smooth running and availability of plant and equipment
• Continuous promotion of best H&S practise
• To proactively help reduce function accident statistics

Shift pattern will be 2 shift (Week 1 6am-2pm / Week 2 2pm-10pm)

Skills and Experience

• Mechanical or Electrical qualification HNC or equivalent.
• Candidates must have worked in a maintenance role previously within heavy engineering/ manufacturing in a fast paced environment.
• PLC experience would be an advantage.
