Responsibilities

  • Maintain a varied range of equipment ensuring health and safety.
  • Diagnose breakdowns and faults to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Respond to breakdowns and tasks timely and document accordingly.
  • Liaise with other departments to support project development.
  • Monitor equipment performance for process improvements.
  • Analyze failure modes using diagnosis tools.
  • Develop and review preventative maintenance routines.

Skills

Strong fault diagnosis and fault-finding skills on machinery
Ability to think on your feet and work well under pressure
PPM exposure
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
Experience working with PLCs
Experience working with circuits and diagrams

Salary: £40,533.92 - £43,821.12 (inclusive of 12% shift allowance)

Location: Washington

Shift Pattern: 2 shifts

The Position of a Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to fulfil a permanent position, who must have experience of the manufacturing industry. The position is based within a fast‑moving environment where you must be able to work well under pressure, deal with multiple challenges daily, and use your own initiative. The role requires someone who is self‑efficient and very hands‑on with both reactive and proactive measures to help achieve improvements in OEE.

Skills & Requirements
  • Time served – Full apprenticeship (Dual Trade)
  • Exposure within a high demanding / manufacturing industry
  • Ability to think on your feet and work well under pressure
  • Strong fault diagnosis and fault‑finding skills on machinery
  • PPM exposure, strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
  • Experience working with PLCs
  • Experience working with circuits and diagrams
Responsibilities
  • Effectively maintain a varied range of equipment, always ensuring an acceptable level of health and safety
  • Root cause diagnosis of all breakdowns and faults to prevent reoccurrences
  • Respond to all breakdowns and requested tasks in a timely manner, completing relevant paperwork and ensuring the maintenance of all records
  • Liaise with other departments and support project development
  • Monitor manufacturing equipment performance with the aim of implementing process improvements
  • Support in‑depth analysis of failure modes using suitable diagnosis tools
  • Develop, implement and review total preventative maintenance routines and ensure adherence to the schedule once implemented
