Role

Multi Trade Operative – Exeter

The post holder will be a mobile operative and engineer responsible for responding to and completing repairs as directed. You will carry out a wide range of maintenance, reactive repairs, void works and related activities within domestic and other properties. You will utilise all aspects of your specialist trade and secondary/multi-trades, and use strong diagnostic skills to resolve faults on the first visit where possible.

You will ensure that maintenance works are completed safely to SHE requirements, efficiently, and to a high professional standard; you will work flexibly, alone or as part of a team, and complete works within required timescales and deadlines.

You will contribute to ongoing development and skills through supporting trainees, apprentices and other professional development. The post holder may provide an out-of-hours service on a rota or other basis as required.

Utilising mobile technology (PDA), you will demonstrate robust time management, attention to detail and a customer-focused approach to a broad range of customers and residents. You will develop relationships with colleagues, be agile, multitask and contribute to positive outcomes.

Exeter, Devon (preferred). Work Location: In person.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and in compliance with SHE requirements; deliver work to high standards and within timescales.
• Provide support to trainees and apprentices; contribute to ongoing professional development.
• Participate in out-of-hours service on a rota basis as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Driving Licence (required).
• Experience in a trades role within social housing (preferred).

• Pay: Up to £33,000 per year.
• Schedule: 8 hour shifts, Day shift, Monday to Friday, Weekend availability.
