Job description

An excellent opportunity to join the Leonardo contract at Wattisham.

Your Role

Due to internal reorganisation within the Leonardo contract, we have a vacancy for a Multi-Task Inspector based at Wattisham, near Ipswich in Suffolk. Reporting to the Industry Delivery Section (IDS) Team Leader, you will be responsible for quality inspection of serviceable and unserviceable equipment in support of the Apache AH64-E helicopter. Working as part of a small team, you will also be involved in all aspects of day-to-day asset management, including goods receipt, stock location, despatch preparation and packaging, providing logistics support to the Boeing LTTSS and RWE contracts.

Your Responsibilities
  • Carry out quality inspections of equipment as required.
  • Communicate actively with other agencies to achieve joint goals.
  • Perform warehousing duties, including operation of MHE, to ensure efficient support centre operations.
  • Report discrepancies affecting contract performance to the WSC Team Leader.
  • Operate Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and perform other computer-based tasks as required, ensuring equipment is processed within required turnaround times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and ideas.
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures, especially regarding machinery and protective equipment.
  • Work closely with personnel at Wattisham Air Station.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the designated area.
  • Perform additional tasks as agreed with the WSC Team Leader.
Your Skills and Experiences
  • Ideally qualified to HNC level in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in an aircraft engineering environment.
  • Flexible, willing to learn, with a positive outlook; some travel within the UK may be required.
  • Team player, capable of working independently or collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications is desirable.
