Purpose of the Job

To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive and breakdown works across all mechanical and electrical systems within the client facility at Taunton, ensuring all‑year uptime across essential services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant, equipment, and systems in accordance with task schedules and asset lists.
  • All reactive tasks throughout the building are completed, proactively highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
  • Ensure electrical plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain all‑year uptime.
  • Ensure RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to always ensure safe working practices.
  • Supervise and monitor sub‑contractor works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance/fixes, keeping them honest. Ensure permits and RAMS are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all critical areas, under CBRE's responsibility, are locked and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Understand the business systems, processes and procedures associated to the site.
  • Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Highlight gaps across the critical spares to the operations manager.
  • Build and develop relationships with all on‑site CBRE staff, sub‑contractors, and client representatives.
  • Ensure the professional image of CBRE is always presented to the client and sub‑contractors.
  • Undertake lone working where required.
  • Participate in EOP/SOP scenario type training and undertake technical assessment tests.
  • Undertake other tasks directed by the account management team.
Skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of UPS, Generators, HV, PDU’s, CRAC units or equivalent, which will include the ability to fault‑find using the production of graphical information and the utilisation of current alarm data.
  • Formal electrical qualification, BS7671 18th edition regulations.
  • Excellent IT skills, competent across Microsoft Office programs.
  • Good communication etiquette.
  • Strong organisational abilities ensuring all documentation is stored and auditable.
  • Experience with a CAFM system is desirable.
  • Team player.
  • Able to multitask and prioritise workload.
  • Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Calm manner, able to work under pressure and make sound decisions when needed.
  • Physically fit and able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20kg.
  • Able to work at heights.
Additional
  • Liaising with external security teams for clearance/vetting.
  • Obtain a comprehensive understanding of the contract and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the contract scope.
  • Actively identify and implement innovation across the contract to enhance performance and continue to exceed the client’s expectations.

  • Obtain full Security Clearance.
