Job summary

Multi Skilled Operative (Planned Works / Kitchen Fitter)

Based in Norwich, but travel throughout Norfolk and North Suffolk will be required. Full time (40 hours per week) – Monday to Friday.

Starting Salary of £32,505 with progression opportunities to £36,051 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus company vehicle and additional earning opportunities through call out. Permanent Contract.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Operative, with a main trade of Carpentry/Plumbing, to join our Planned Works Team. This role will help deliver an effective and efficient service to our residents, working on occupied and empty homes to deliver our planned works programme, including Kitchen and Bathroom upgrades and Aids and Adaptations. You will ensure that works are carried out in a timely manner and to a high standard of workmanship to our properties. This plays a key role in providing an excellent service to our residents, so if you want to help make a difference to our residents, this may be the job for you!

The main focus of the role will be:

  • Responsible for effective and efficient repairs/works to our homes, carrying out works to a high standard in empty homes and occupied properties.
  • Support responsive repairs and maintenance works within empty and occupied properties when required.
  • Complete allocated work within carpentry/plumbing trade/skill set as well as additional trade/skills such as tiling, painting/decorating, plastering/patch plastering and vinyl floor laying; further training can be provided.
  • Help us provide an excellent service to our residents, minimising call backs and maximising first time fixes.
About You
  • Minimum of either full trade Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry.
  • Skilled in other trades such as tiling, plumbing, plastering/patch plastering, painting, vinyl floor laying and decorating.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience of working in Property Maintenance.
  • Good IT, literacy and communication skills.
  • A positive can‑do attitude and the ability to work independently and problem solve.
