Job description

Permanent, Full time, 39 hours per week (between 8am - 6pm) plus call out incl. weekends

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Operative with joinery and general building experience to work within our Property Services team.

Working primarily within the voids team, you will be responsible for preparing empty homes for new tenants, carrying out a variety of joinery, building, plaster patching and decorating tasks to ensure properties meet high standards and are ready for occupation quickly and efficiently.

You will typically:
  • Carrying out all joinery, building and maintenance work relating to voids, modernisation and responsive repairs works allocated by the Resource planner.
  • Carrying out multi‑skilled works to include joinery, plastering, tiling, decoration works to all JRF/JRHT properties in accordance with priorities and policies.
  • Providing safe usage and supervising usage of machinery, including basic maintenance and inspections, as and when required.
  • Attending and participating in all training, learning and personal development events as required.
  • Working to current Health & Safety guidance and legislation supporting Team Leaders and JRHT in the development of safe working practices.
  • Take Part in JRHT’s out of hours rota (Generally no more than 1 in every 10 weeks)
About you

You will hold a City & Guilds / NVQ in a related field and have experience in building and joinery and multi‑skilled works, particularly maintenance, repair and modernisation to properties. You will also have good understanding of Health & Safety requirements, including COSHH regulations.

You must also have good customer service skills and a clean driving licence and be comfortable working on a mobile job allocation device.

In this varied role there will be opportunities to progress within the department, lead on projects as well as access to training courses in order to develop your skills.
