Job description

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased).

Location: Watford.

Sector/Industry: FMCG.

Salary: £58,000 per annum.

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (days and nights).

About the Role:

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join a leading manufacturing site in Watford. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a solid grounding in electrical maintenance combined with practical mechanical experience working on piped systems, valves, pumps, and process utility lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, focusing on process utilities.
  • Maintain piped systems including pumps, valves, and utility process lines.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults across electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Work safely and efficiently within GMP and health & safety guidelines.
  • Support continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Strong electrical maintenance experience in industrial environments.
  • Proven mechanical skills working with piped systems, valves, and pumps.
  • Experience with process utility lines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Experience in GMP or similar regulated manufacturing environments is desirable.
  • Experience working 4 on / 4 off shift patterns (days and nights) preferred.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Knowledge of robotics and automation is a plus but not essential.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food manufacturing, or similar sectors.
  • Relevant electrical/mechanical engineering qualifications.
