Multiskilled Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Working Hours
  • 36 hours per week
  • Monday–Thursday: 06:00‑13:30 / 13:30‑21:00
  • Friday: 06:00‑12:00 / 12:00‑18:00
  • During the probationary period, training will take place on day shifts (08:00‑17:00)

We are seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our engineering team at our site in Hyde.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this hands‑on role involves fault diagnosis, electrical and mechanical repairs, and maintenance of a wide range of machinery, including automated assembly cells, injection moulding equipment, and hydraulic presses. You will also carry out electrical installation tasks such as fitting armoured cable for new equipment, completing lighting and power installations, and supporting the commissioning of new machinery.

The role includes completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on factory services and equipment, as well as contributing to continuous improvements across the site.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a similar role, with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, the ability to identify emerging issues, and the confidence to recommend effective solutions. We are looking for someone proactive, collaborative, and keen to contribute ideas in a fast‑paced and growing manufacturing environment.

Experience with press machines, injection moulding, conveyors, assembly equipment, single and three‑phase installations, and panel wiring is highly advantageous.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Apprentice‑trained or equivalent, ideally holding at least NVQ Level 3 or similar
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding ability
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs
  • Previous experience in a factory or production environment preferred

A three‑month probationary period applies.
