Job description
Overview

A full time opportunity has arisen for a band 6 MSK physio. This post will be based across Kenilworth clinic and Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.

The role includes supervising undergraduate physiotherapists, leading a variety of exercise classes, participating in monthly in-service training, and deputising for Team leads in service development. The clinical sites are supported by Advanced Practice physiotherapists who are available to discuss clinical queries and provide opportunity to shadow their clinics. We also have close working links with physiotherapy colleagues in Pelvic health, Orthopaedics, Pain and Respiratory. Coaching and mentoring are available to aid learning and career development. South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust supports a seven day inpatient service, hence this post includes orthopaedic weekend working.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard physiotherapy service to patients in the specialist area and work as an accountable and autonomous practitioner with responsibility for own caseload.
  • Work with the Pathway and Team leads to plan, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate the Physiotherapy service within the specialty on a day to day basis.
  • Provide support and clinical supervision for less experienced physiotherapy staff and undergraduate students.
  • Deputise for the Team leaders as required.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using written records and electronic data capture.
  • Contribute to out of hours working as required.
  • Maintain own competency to practise.
  • Lead and participate in supervising and mentoring activities and in exercise class delivery as part of service provision.
  • Engage with Advanced Practice physiotherapists and multidisciplinary colleagues for learning opportunities and clinical discussion.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Band 6 MSK physiotherapist (full-time).
  • Based across Kenilworth clinic and Hospital of St Cross, Rugby, with involvement in 7-day in-patient service and weekend orthopaedic work.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage a caseload, and contribute to service development and evaluation.
