Mortgage Product & Proposition Strategy Consultant

North West England

Our client is an established and successful specialist mortgage lender, based in the North West but serve the whole of the UK via broker channels. They are undertaking an exciting mortgage transformation project looking at reviewing and enhancing their entire customer journey from product / proposition inception through to completion. This role will be an integral part of that project team, the lead Subject Matter Expert on the Mortgage Product & Proposition workstream.

Working closely with the Head of Mortgage Strategy and Programme colleagues, you will identify, design, and implement new mortgage product and service propositions to enter new national markets as well as core local members, aiming to be ‘better and different’ than other national lender offerings.

Responsibilities

• Identify and design new national product propositions that delivers high commercial returns and create a new identity for the lender in the broker market
• Obtain all committee approvals for new propositions, including product governance and consumer duty requirements
• Work with marketing, operations, distribution, finance, and IT colleagues to implement new propositions
• Identify and change key mortgage criteria and affordability assessments to substantially improve existing propositions
• Manage all elements of product risk, including conduct, financial, operational, and regulatory risk

Qualifications

Our client is looking for an experienced Product Manager with a background in mortgages and an analytical mindset with strong report writing and presentation skills. The role is offered on a hybrid nature, you will be expected to be in the office on a weekly basis, likely a couple of days, with travel and accommodation expenses paid for those that do not live within commutable distance.
