Molecular Radiotherapy & Nuclear Medicine Diagnostic Lead, Band 7

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – closing date is 22 December 2025.

We are excited to expand our Molecular Radiotherapy team and are hiring a leading professional to oversee Nuclear Medicine Imaging and Molecular Therapy. This role provides safe, high‑quality care and leads technical and clinical aspects across two large district hospitals.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 – 15:30.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide specialist radiographer advice on Molecular Therapy and Nuclear Medicine Imaging, including facilities, equipment and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Lead the accurate and efficient use of technical equipment to deliver safe nuclear medicine imaging, tests, and Molecular therapies.
  • Prepare procedures, protocols and competency documentation for various treatments and imaging.
  • Collaborate with Medical Physics to maintain equipment and facilities.
  • Supervise and participate in the treatment, discharge and imaging of Iodine‑131 patients and Radium‑223 patients.
  • Manage GFR testing service – coordinate, supervise, check and report results.
  • Process complex nuclear medicine scans and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Participate in the Radiopharmacy rota as part of contingency planning.

Qualifications and Training
  • Relevant scientific BSc or equivalent.
  • HCPC Radiographer registration or RCT registration for Nuclear Medicine or Radiotherapy.
  • Leadership training.
Experience
  • Extensive work experience as a Senior Nuclear Medicine or Molecular Radiotherapy radiographer / clinical technologist.
  • Experience within waste management frameworks.
  • Experience with radiology information systems and electronic patient record systems (e.g. IsoStock, CRIS, PACS, EPR, ARIA, Chemo Care).
  • Leadership role experience.
  • Experience in an RPS role.
Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes
  • Good understanding of Radiation Protection regulations.
