Job summary

A leading insurance firm is seeking a Capital Modelling Support professional in London. This role involves the maintenance and development of capital models to meet regulatory and business requirements, reporting on model results, and supporting integration in M&A activities. Candidates should hold a relevant degree, have 3+ years of experience in the actuarial field, and demonstrate strong skills in Excel, Python, and SQL.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Mathematics, Economics or Actuarial Science).
  • Progress toward a relevant professional qualification (FIA/AIA/FCAS/ACAS).
  • 3+ years of relevant actuarial/insurance industry experience.

Job description

Reporting to and partnering with the Capital Reporting Manager, your role will be to support the modelling function to maintain their high-quality output

  • Location: London
  • Type: Permanent

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

  • Support the ongoing maintenance and development of standard factor capital models to meet regulatory (incl. BSCR and Standard Formula), rating agency and business requirements.
  • Investigate, explain and report on model results to internal committees
  • Support the M&A function in capital-related components of transaction pricing and in the integration of won M&A deals outside of Lloyd’s
  • Support calibration, development and maintenance of FPA models
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Mathematics, Economics or Actuarial Science)
  • Progress toward a relevant professional qualification (e.g. FIA/AIA/FCAS/ACAS qualified or near completion)
  • 3+ years of relevant actuarial/insurance industry experience
  • Solid knowledge of insurance products, reinsurance, financial instruments and their capital impacts
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Python and SQL. Desirable: WTW’s Igloo
