Job Title: Model Risk Oversight Manager

Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: From £46000 (Edinburgh) £51000 (London) + excellent benefits
Location: Edinburgh or London – Hybrid working
Closing Date: 30 January 2026

Our Model Risk Oversight team plays an important part in our business. The team is responsible for the oversight of risk and financial models. This includes the independent validation of our most important models, including IRB, IFRS9 and Treasury models, to a standard that meets internal and regulatory expectations. The role requires you to lead the statistical testing of the models and report on the technical findings in a clear and transparent way.

How you\'ll make a difference

Leading a small team of people, you will be responsible for effectively leading the validation of the components of Credit & Financial Risk models, following our internal framework and standards as well as external regulation. You will produce internal and external reports summarising the validations, highlighting areas for potential improvement. You will support senior management in their interactions across the business and externally. You will be able to influence, and build relationships with, a range of stakeholders from within Risk and the wider TSB Business. The role is about working collaboratively to support a strong culture of accountability, empowerment and proactive contribution to the ongoing development of the function, reflecting the evolving modelling landscape within the bank and the associated regulatory expectations.

What you\'ll bring

  • A proven background in quantitative risk assessment models and methodologies, with experience in either model development or validation.
  • Experience covering financial products and services, coupled with proven experience working in a specialist Risk function e.g., Model Risk / Capital Risk / Credit Risk / Market Risk.
  • Strong knowledge of Credit/Financial Model Risk related regulation e.g., Capital Requirements Regulation and IFRS9.
  • Capability to understand complex issues, communicate with clarity and provide information to senior leaders including Directors and Heads of Function.
  • Ability to lead, inspire and develop individuals and create high performing teams to deliver model validations.
  • Be recognised by your stakeholders as providing excellent technical and regulatory knowledge – building on the strong reputation of the Model Risk Oversight team within TSB.
  • Be a strong team player, working effectively with colleagues in the Model Risk Oversight team as well as in the wider business which in turn helps deliver our regulatory commitments.
