Job summary

A plant servicing company in Birmingham is looking for a skilled technician with over 5 years of experience in servicing heavy plant machinery. You will manage your workload remotely and must possess a full driving license. Responsibilities include servicing equipment, diagnosing faults, and maintaining comprehensive records. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics, along with excellent communication skills to build relationships with clients. Competitive pay with standard hours plus overtime is on offer.

Job description

With a minimum of 5 years experience working with, repairing and servicing Heavy Plant and Machinery this exciting opportunity might be for you.

Working independently you will be expected to manage your time and workload remotely.

You will be required to possess a full driving licenseand you will receive a company van to enable you to reach the sites our clients will require you to attend.

Ideally based within a 1 hour catchment area of Birmingham, this is an exciting and varied opportunity with an established plant servicing business.

As part of your duties you will be required to fulfill the following duties:-

  • Servicing, repairing and the statutory compliance relating to heavy plant equipment.
  • Investigating, diagnosing and repairing machine faults.
  • Carrying out pre and post hire checks.
  • Developing and maintaining working relationships with customers.
  • Complying with all company policy and procedures, including health & safety.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records.
  • Identifying and capturing machine damage, investigating and documenting, as appropriate.
Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience of working with, and knowledge of, heavy construction plant and equipment is essential.
  • The ability to investigate and diagnose technical faults and take ownership to resolve problems.
  • Conversant with hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • The ability to work to high standards, with an attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to build good working relationships with plant operators, site personnel and customers.

Standard hours week plus overtime will be paid.
