Job Advert: Mobile Hygiene Operative – Facilities & Environment

Location: Raglan, Monmouthshire

Employment Type: Temporary (10 Weeks)

Start Date: 02 February 2026

Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible working required)

Work Pattern: Remote working across sites (mobile role)

Salary:

  • PAYE: £13.26 per hour
  • Umbrella: £17.15 per hour

Are you reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene? We are seeking Mobile Hygiene Operatives to join the Facilities & Environment team within Community & Place – Commercial Operations to support service delivery across Monmouthshire.

This is a temporary opportunity to cover a vacancy where permanent recruitment has not been successful, offering immediate work in a vital frontline service.

What You’ll Do
  • Deliver high-quality cleaning and hygiene services across multiple council sites within Monmouthshire.
  • Maintain agreed standards of cleanliness in line with task instruction sheets and health & safety requirements.
  • Carry out daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning duties, including sanitation of toilets, floors, surfaces, and communal areas.
  • Replenish hygiene supplies and report faults or issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Accurately record tasks completed and return documentation as required.
  • Operate as a mobile worker, travelling between sites and representing the organisation professionally at all times.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in cleaning, hygiene, or facilities services (desirable but not essential).
  • A thorough, systematic approach to work with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when required by the service.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Essential Requirements
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Criminal Convictions Declaration.
  • Enhanced DBS check (Children and Adults Barred List).
  • Two years’ references/work history.
  • Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Willingness to comply with Health & Safety, COSHH, and safeguarding requirements.
