Qualifications

  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to work independently.

Overview

Mobile HGV Technician
Location: Northampton
Salary: £50,000 - £55,500
Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time

The Role

We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician with strong knowledge of municipal vehicles to join our client's team. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for keeping refuse trucks, sweepers, and other municipal vehicles in safe, roadworthy condition.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out inspections, servicing, MOT prep and repairs on municipal vehicles
  • Diagnosing and fixing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Ensuring vehicles are compliant with all safety and legal standards
  • Completing accurate paperwork and using fleet systems to log work
  • Supporting with pre-delivery inspections of new fleet vehicles
What You'll Bring
  • At least 5 years\' experience working on HGVs / municipal vehicles
  • Solid knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • A full HGV Category C licence
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
  • Previous experience supervising or leading people would be an advantage
