Mobile Executive Chef – Scotland (Education Sector)

Full-time | 40 hours/week | Day shifts (occasional evenings/weekends) | Travel expenses paid

We’re looking for a dynamic Mobile Executive Chef to join our elite culinary team – a true food ambassador who thrives on variety, challenge, and the opportunity to shape the future of school dining.

What’s the Role?

This is no ordinary chef position. As our Development Mobile Chef, you’ll step into the kitchens of Scotland’s top Independent Schools, supporting, developing, and inspiring kitchen teams, while ensuring exceptional food standards are met – and exceeded.

Whether covering for Executive or Head Chefs, launching exciting new initiatives, or leading on VIP and special events, you’ll be at the forefront of culinary excellence in education.

What you will Do
  • Step into leadership roles when needed, keeping kitchens running at top performance
  • Drive innovation in menus and food presentation aligned with our sector-leading food strategy
  • Train, coach, and mentor kitchen brigades – raise the bar, build confidence, spark creativity
  • Collaborate with onsite teams to roll out exciting food concepts, new openings & seasonal menus
  • Deliver memorable experiences at high-profile school events (think summer balls, galas, conferences)
  • Be a subject matter expert on food safety, school food standards, and compliance
What We’re Looking For
  • A highly skilled chef with proven experience in high-volume, quality food service, ideally in the education or contract catering sector
  • A true foodie, passionate about culinary trends, innovation, and developing people
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, you bring the energy and inspire those around you
  • Able to travel across Scotland to support various school sites (travel expenses covered)
  • Food Safety Level 3, NVQ 2+ or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in fine dining, large team management or multi-site operations, a bonus!

  • Financial awareness – costing, budgeting, stock control
