Job description
Responsibilities
  • Monitor premises and visitors via CCTV and X-ray machines, and conduct other security checks such as using hand‑held metal detectors on court users and bag searches on arrival.
  • Patrol and secure access to buildings and satellite buildings, maintaining contact with the control room using hand‑held radios.
  • Respond to panic alarm buttons in Judges' rooms, courts, and offices.
  • Respond to any security issues within the complex and record and report details of those incidents.
Qualifications
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance will be completed for the successful candidate.
  • SIA Licence and relevant security‑related experience.
  • UK driving licence (may be required depending on location).
  • Strong people and customer‑service skills.
  • Good diligence and high standard of work.
  • Effective communication skills.
Working Hours

You will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week, typically Monday‑Friday, covering different shifts across a number of courts within a dedicated area around the home‑base of this advertised location. There is no weekend or night work, but overtime is often offered on Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays. Weekends are paid at a generous rate of 1.5× for Saturdays and 2× for Sundays, with 1.5× for weekday overtime outside of normal court operating times.
