Do you have a Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent?

Duties within this care home include preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food, along with understanding the requirements of special diets for residents.

Duties may include serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen, its surroundings and equipment. Completion of required paperwork including electronic returns.

We have several vacancies for Mobile Assistant Cooks in care homes which provide care 7 days a week for residents.

Mobile Assistant Cook
  • Post - 32.5 hours per week on a 52 week permanent basis

Post consists of early and late shifts between the hours 7.30am – 6pm, working 5 days over 7 on a 4-week rota which entails 2 weekends on and 2 weekends off.

You will earn a competitive salary of £24,740.74 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • £13.18 per hour, plus enhancements for shift work, including weekends.
  • Pay is every 4 weeks.

This work is about ensuring residents, service users and staff are provided with meals throughout the day.

The Person

Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent is essential for this post.

You will be required to attend a full day’s induction training before starting in post.

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
