Job description

Location : London / Hybrid

Reporting to : Creative Director

Le Col is a premium cycling apparel brand with one of the world’s biggest cycling communities. We’re a small, ambitious creative team with big ideas, and we’re looking for someone who wants to make a real impact and help shape the visual direction of a fast-moving brand.

We’re seeking a Mid-weight Designer / Art Director with strong conceptual thinking, excellent design craft, and the confidence to lead projects from idea through to execution. You’ll work across digital, social, print, and motion, owning campaign development and day-to-day creative output. Experience supporting or leading photoshoots, from pre-production through to post is essential.

You’ll thrive here if you’re both a thinker and a doer, someone who can generate ideas, challenge briefs, and deliver polished, high-performing creative across all touchpoints. Most work is centred on Social, CRM, Web, and some packaging / print work. Image retouching and improving our creative systems and templates will also play a part in day-to-day work. The role requires agility, organisation, and the ability to balance fast-turnaround tasks with longer-term projects.

We’re a cycling brand at heart, we value people who are passionate about sport, fitness, creativity and design.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute creative concepts across email, web, social, video, PR, and advertising.
  • Lead design projects independently and support the Creative Director on larger campaigns.
  • Contribute to and direct photoshoots across pre-production, on-set, and post-production stages.
  • Confidently design and roll out creative assets across multiple channels and formats.
  • Curate, prepare, and lightly retouch campaign imagery.
  • Maintain and elevate Le Col’s visual consistency and brand standards.
  • Improve templates and design processes to drive team efficiency.
  • Contribute to website enhancements, wireframes, and UI components.
  • Respond to quick-turnaround requests while managing multiple workstreams.
Key Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years’ digital design experience, ideally within a premium brand, retail environment, agency, or design studio. Experience in Sports / Lifestyle / Wellness genres would be good.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and art-direction skills.
  • Experience leading or supporting photoshoots.
  • Experience in overseeing or managing junior designers and freelancers / partners.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and deliver high-quality work across channels.
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite and Figma proficiency.
  • Animation and Video editing capability (After Effects, Premiere) would be ideal.
  • Solid understanding of brand, typography, layout, and digital-first design.
  • Understanding the spectrum of Social channels and the variation of tone needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
