Job description

On behalf of a district hospital in Mid Yorkshire, I am seeking an experienced Microbiology Consultant available to start ASAP for a minimum of 3 months. This locum position is likely to be extended.

Working hours: Mon – Fri, 9-17. Predominantly onsite, with some remote work possible. On-call duties are approximately 1 in 4, mostly remotely via telephone or IT access, with on-site attendance required for significant incidents or complex cases.

  • Duties include:
  • Providing consultation and advisory services to colleagues within the Trust, and occasionally to primary care and mental health trusts.
  • Supporting regular clinical meetings and postgraduate activities.
  • Offering infection prevention and control advice when the infection control lead is away.
  • Sharing responsibilities with other microbiologists to deliver an integrated clinical microbiology service.

The location is excellent, accessible by public transport and car, with amenities nearby.
