Overview

METERING SCHEDULER – Cardiff

Pay: £17 per hour. Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (30-minute lunch break). Location: Cardiff, CF23. Contract: 6-month initial contract with potential to go permanent. Working pattern: Hybrid – 2 days in the office, 3 days from home after training.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule work for engineers and subcontractors to maximise efficiency.
  • Manage bookings and requests via customer portals and email.
  • Prioritise work to meet client and contractual requirements.
  • Communicate with clients about appointments and engineer availability.
  • Maintain databases and prepare reports for management.
  • Support field teams and resolve queries effectively.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment where no two days are the same
  • Previous scheduling or energy industry experience is desirable
Interview Process
  • Conducted via Microsoft Teams
  • Competency-based questions
  • Expected duration: up to 45 minutes
Training & Working Pattern
  • Full training will be provided
  • First 2–3 weeks: work from the office 3–4 days per week
  • Post-training: hybrid model – 2 days in the office, 3 days from home
  • The team is usually in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays (subject to change)
