Job summary

A healthcare organization in the UK is seeking a Mental Health Social Worker to transform mental health services in Salford. You will deliver statutory social care functions while working within the Community Mental Health Teams. Job description
Overview

It is an exciting time to work within mental health services in Salford as we are transforming both Adult Social Care and our integrated Community Mental Health Services. The Mental Health Social Worker role will focus on delivering statutory social care functions within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust’s Community Mental Health Teams.

Responsibilities
  • Adult safeguarding screening and acting as Enquiry Officer for referrals meeting the s.42 threshold.
  • Providing Care Act s.2 and s.4 statutory functions and where required proportionate Care Act assessments for new referrals to community mental health services.
  • Co‑operating with other social workers across Salford’s Community Mental Health Teams and picking up work at teams when required.
  • Working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday, primarily based at Ramsgate House, Lower Broughton, M7 2YL.
Qualifications
  • Professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Interest in mental health and previous experience supporting people with mental health problems.
  • Optional: Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) or Best Interests Assessor (BIA) qualification, or staff wishing to train as such.
Additional Information

You will be offered regular line management and professional social work supervision, and there will also be regular opportunities for continuing professional development. Staff well‑being is important, and we offer peer support groups and reflective practice groups. Qualified AMHPs will be expected to contribute to the AMHP rota as part of their role.
