The Role

We are seeking a Mental Health Social Worker to join our Central Locality Mental Health Team. You will:

• Undertake Care Act and carers\' assessments, safeguarding enquiries, and reviews.


• Develop care and support plans that promote independence and wellbeing.


• Support people with functional and/or organic mental health needs, making effective use of community resources and social care budgets.


• Deliver evidence-based practice including motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care and psychoeducation.


• Provide guidance on the Care Act, Mental Health Act and safeguarding procedures.


• Work closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues in health, housing and voluntary services.


• Champion the rights of adults with mental health needs and their carers.


• Be supported to train as an AMHP, with further opportunities for BIA/AMCP development.

About You

You will be a qualified and registered Social Worker with:

• Experience in adult social care, ideally within mental health.


• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practice.


• The ability to manage complex caseloads and apply a strengths-based approach.


• Excellent partnership working skills across health, social care and community services.


• Motivation to develop as an AMHP or BIA/AMCP with Haringey's support.
