Job summary

A healthcare partnership in the UK is seeking an experienced mental health professional to provide assessments and support new referrals in secondary care mental health services. The candidate will work autonomously in a multidisciplinary team, carrying out clinical assessments and planning patient care. Qualifications include a recognised mental health qualification (RMN), relevant post-registration experience, and a full UK driving licence. Qualifications

Job description
Position Overview

All new starters will commence in post on a fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme. P2C offers up to three weeks of training to meet the induction and initial training requirements of the role. The role is based at CWP, part of the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership, which provides health and care services to over one million people across Wirral, Cheshire, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, signposting and support for new referrals into secondary care mental health services for adults aged 18 and above.
  • Work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred mental health care.
  • Carry out clinical assessments, report writing and complex patient care planning.
  • Support transformation of community mental health services across a wide geographical area.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Recognised qualification in mental health (RMN).
  • Minimum of one year post‑registration experience, preferably at Band 5 level.
  • Evidence of further professional development in serious mental illness.
  • Willingness to undertake and complete a nurse prescribing certificate (or non‑medical prescribing certificate).
  • UK professional registration (e.g. Nursing and Midwifery Council).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across the service area.
