Mental Health Assistant – Secondary – Wokingham

ASAP Start – Full-Time Position

Are you passionate about supporting young people’s mental health and emotional well-being? Do you aspire to a career in Psychology, Counselling, or Education?

A forward-thinking and supportive secondary school in Wokingham is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to work with students aged 11 to 18 facing a range of challenges including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Anxiety, ADHD, and Autism. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to gain first-hand experience supporting mental health in an educational setting.

  • Role: Mental Health Assistant
  • Location: Wokingham
  • Salary: £89–£100 per day
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Ideal for: Psychology, Counselling, Criminology Graduates or aspiring Educational Psychologists/Therapists
Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Assistant, you’ll work closely with pastoral teams, teachers, and external therapists to provide emotional and behavioural support to students. You’ll support both 1:1 interventions and small group work, promoting emotional regulation and resilience in a safe and inclusive environment.
