A healthcare organization in Basildon is seeking a Medical Typist to join their Medical Specialities team on a permanent full-time basis. The role involves providing high-quality clinical typing services to Consultants and requires fast and accurate audio typing skills, along with good knowledge of medical terminology. The ideal candidate will ensure timely dispatch of correspondence and work collaboratively within the team. This position is crucial for supporting patient pathway coordinators and maintaining performance indicators.

We are looking for a medical typist to join our friendly Medical Specialities team on a permanent full‑time basis.
You will provide a high‑quality clinical typing service to a team of Consultants supporting the Patient Pathway Coordinators.
Ensuring that all correspondences are dispatched promptly to patients, GP's and other health care provider's as required within agreed time frames.
To ensure all letters and correspondences received for typing are prioritised in an accurate and efficient manner for example in date or urgency order.
To be responsible for typing clinic letters, reports and other clinical correspondence in line with the Trust's contractual key performance indicators (KPIs). To follow standard operating procedures, which describe how the functions of the role will be carried out along with given timescales and key performance indicators that will be adhered to.
To work as part of a team providing cover for colleagues during sickness and annual leave where appropriate. This may include providing typing support in other departments.
You will need fast and accurate audio typing skills and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.
