We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Pathology team at The London Clinic, located at 116 Harley Street, London W1G 7JL. The role offers a competitive salary, dependent on skills and experience.

The Pathology department is committed to providing exceptional service. It is accredited by UKAS under the ISO15189:2012 standard, with additional accreditations for stem cell services by JACIE and regulation by the HTA. Our services include allergy, biochemistry, endocrinology, haematology, blood transfusion, histology, cytology, immunology, microbiology, and stem cell services.

Job Profile

As an MLA, you will work in sample reception, supporting biomedical scientists (BMS) across various pathology areas, assisting in tasks such as sample processing and management.

Job Details

• Type: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours/week) with part-time options available.
• Shifts: Monday – Friday, with weekend cover as needed.
• Location: Pathology Department, 116 Harley Street, London W1G 7JL.
• Salary: Competitive, based on experience and skills.

Key Duties

• Identify and sort samples from various sources including wards and outpatient clinics.
• Label, centrifuge, and prepare samples for testing.
• Manage improperly labeled samples and investigate discrepancies.
• Charge patient accounts via Meditech.
• Accurately input patient test requirements into the laboratory system and report discrepancies.
