Job description
The Opportunity

We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Mechanical Project Manager who can strengthen our existing team.

The Mechanical Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the management and success of the mechanical side project, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations and will report to the Senior Project Manager.

What you will be doing
  • To manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the company IPCD.
  • To manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the Project Process Document.
  • To manage the resources on the project on a day to day basis and to report any staff issues as appropriate.
  • Manage project commercial issues and cost reporting (WIP)with the QS.
  • Identifying the clients requirements and ensure we deliver these requirements to the clients’ satisfaction.
  • Representing the company on any internal or external issues.
  • Preparing detailed plans and procedures to administer the project and ensure the project team are familiar with and follow these guidelines.
  • Managing all project reporting is provided upstream and downstream on a timely manner.
  • Regularly audit the project to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate with the project team regularly on project specific matters and company initiatives.
  • To manage the project cash flow is positive throughout the life of the project.
  • To manage procurement and achieve best value for Engineering Services.
  • Identify all risks and manage actions and implementation to mitigate such risks.
  • Issuing Monthly Project Review report and monthly Project Manager report.
What we will need from you
  • Experience of managing a project team to reach completion within budget and to programme.
  • Ability to interpret the requirements of the specification
  • Experience of managing procurement, labour and sub-contractors.
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement and management
  • Experience of controlling contract costs and variations.
  • Experience of co-ordinating M&E Services installations
  • Experience of all health and safety requirements during the contract including compiling method statements and risk assessments
  • Compilation and presentation of Operating & Maintenance Manuals
  • Experience of managing contract values ranging from £4m and above
  • BTEC: HNC Mechanical engineering or Building Services desirable
  • Mechanical Management Experience
  • CSCS card
  • SMSTS - desirable
