Job description
Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to lead and deliver engineering projects within a large-scale heavy industry environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing engineering projects with site stakeholders, supporting the Project Manager with site-wide initiatives, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical engineering projects from conception through to delivery.
  • Develop and implement engineering solutions in collaboration with site stakeholders.
  • Assist the Project Manager with project planning, execution, and budgetary control.
  • Ensure safe and controlled management of assigned projects.
  • Take ownership of urgent projects to meet critical deadlines.
  • Act as duty engineer during weekend cover (approx. 1 in 10).
Education & Experience

Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering (or equivalent experience demonstrating capability).

5+ years' experience in a technical or engineering role.

Background in pulp & paper, steel, or other heavy industries preferred.

Strong ability to independently drive and manage projects valued between £10k - £6m.

  • Salary: £53,000 per annum
