Job summary

A leading engineering company in the UK is seeking an individual to oversee engineering activities for rotating equipment and mechanical packages. The role involves ensuring compliance with project designs and technical specifications, monitoring contractor performance, and coordinating with various engineering disciplines. Responsibilities also include reviewing vendor documents and participating in safety studies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in engineering, particularly with rotating equipment. Responsibilities

  • Review engineering activities for rotating equipment and mechanical packages.
  • Ensure compliance with Project Basis of Design and HSE requirements.
  • Monitor and control contractor performance for engineering documents.
  • Ensure equipment is correctly specified, procured, tested, and installed.
  • Review and track progress of contractor deliverables.
  • Review technical bid evaluations for vendor selection.
  • Participate in vendor meetings and review meetings.
  • Review vendor documents and support technical issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines for technical consistency.
  • Liaise with Operations for maintainability and operability requirements.
  • Participate in safety studies and project reviews.
  • Respond to technical queries and concession requests.
  • Support commissioning activities and technical findings resolution.
  • Attend vendor workshops and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests.
Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Review engineering activities for rotating equipment and mechanical packages (e.g. pumps, compressors, chemical injection, air compressors, diesel generators) performed by the EPC/EPSCC Contractor.

  • Ensure compliance with Project Basis of Design, technical specifications, applicable standards, and HSE requirements.

  • Monitor and control contractor performance, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of engineering documents and studies.

  • Ensure rotating equipment and packages are correctly specified, procured, tested, and installed in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Review and track progress of contractor deliverables and report issues to the Lead and Project Management.

  • Review technical bid evaluations and provide input to vendor selection and Purchase Order awards.

  • Participate in vendor kick-off meetings, technical clarification meetings, and post-award reviews.

  • Review and comment on vendor documents and support resolution of technical issues.

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure technical consistency and integration.

  • Liaise with Operations to address operability, maintainability, and availability requirements.

  • Participate in project reviews and safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, 3D Model Reviews, Mechanical Handling Reviews).

  • Respond to technical queries, deviations, and concession requests, including coordination with Technical Authorities.

  • Support commissioning activities and resolution of technical findings.

  • Attend vendor workshops, review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
