Job description
What will I be doing?
  • We’ll look to you to provide planned and reactive maintenance for all mechanical areas of our STV 4&5 Energy Recovery Plant.
  • That means you’ll be tackling everything from fitting and fabrication, to welding, cutting and burning.
  • Expect complex overhauls of machinery and inspections of key equipment including gearboxes, crane, conveying and hydraulic systems.
  • At the same time, you’ll be a valued member of the team, supporting colleagues across different functions.

Please note that this role forms part of a 24-hour call-out rota (1 week in 4), covering plant breakdowns outside normal working hours.

What are the requirements?
  • To join us in this key role, you’ll need an Engineering background, ideally time served Apprenticeship (or equivalent experience) and previous mechanical maintenance engineering experience, gained in a process plant / engineering or heavy engineering environment or any similar industry considered.
  • Any steam raising or boiler experience would be highly beneficial.
  • You’ll be qualified to at least City & Guilds/NVQ level 3, combined with a Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH) and the ability to use Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • With a basic knowledge of electrical systems plus welding experience, you’ll be equipped to excel in this important technical role.
