Job summary

A specialist engineering business is urgently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters/Assemblers to work near Gatwick. Candidates must be skilled in assembling mechanical equipment and using milling and turning machines, with a solid mechanical background. This role offers a chance to put your skills to the test in an exciting and challenging environment. Excellent pay rates from £16 to £18 per hour are offered along with a referral scheme for successful candidates.

Mechanical Fitters/Turner-miller

Mechanical Fitters/Assemblers urgently required to work for a specialist engineering and manufacturing business based near Gatwick. We are looking for experienced fitters and assemblers who can work to engineering drawings and build a wide range of mechanical equipment. This role is ideal for someone who is looking for a new challenge, who wants to put your assembly, fitting and production experience to the test!

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical fitter or Assembler with experience of using milling and turning machines. Due to the nature of the work you will need to be experienced in the tooling and have a solid mechanical background.

MAIN TASKS
  • Build/assemble Mechanical equipment.
  • Plan the steps required ahead of a job starting to achieve the required outcome.
  • Understanding of the production process in relation to the products being made.
  • Safely and accurately use manual Mills / Lathes to make components.
  • Accurately work to Mechanical Drawings when assembling components.
  • Receives BOMs/work orders/drawings from Mechanical Production Officer.
  • Produce, repair and upgrade mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Assist in assembling, packing and general loading and unloading.
