Job summary

A leading recruitment agency seeks an experienced Mechanical Fitter for an important project at the Port of Blyth. This role involves building, assembling, and maintaining mechanical systems as well as conducting fault diagnostics. Candidates should have proven experience in mechanical fitting, relevant certifications, and the ability to read engineering drawings. The position is a contract lasting 12 to 18 months, starting in January 2026, offering a chance to work on a vital infrastructure project.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in civil, utility, or heavy plant projects.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Able to complete a trade test on internal gears and seals.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and maintain the crawler and associated mechanical equipment.
• Install and replace components, including internal gears and seals.
• Conduct fault diagnostics, repair, and general maintenance on mechanical systems.
