Qualifications

• Hold formal qualifications within Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a heavy engineering environment.
• Experience of working with Gearboxes and Rotating Equipment.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair of electric motors, pumps, fans, and gearboxes.
• Dismantle equipment, fault find, and perform repairs.
• Assemble gearboxes according to customer specifications.
• Work from technical drawings while ensuring high workmanship quality.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter for our client who are well-known engineering business in the Huddersfield area on a permanent basis, working Monday to Friday with a Salary up to 40K, excellent working conditions and ongoing training and progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

Primarily a workshop-based role working within a team of multi-skilled engineers undertaking the service and repair of electric motors, pumps, fans, and gearboxes.

• Dismantling the above equipment, fault finding, diagnosis and repair
• Assembly of gearboxes from stock to suit customers' requirements
• Working directly from technical drawings & instruction whilst ensuring a high quality of workmanship
• Occasional site for sitework as and when required

Qualifications

• Hold formal qualifications within Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or similar)
• Have previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter within a heavy engineering environment
• Have experience of working with Gearboxes and Rotating Equipment
