Mechanical Fitter Needed in Manchester

Location: Trafford Park, Manchester

Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:30, Friday 07:00-15:30 (44 hours, flexibility required)

Salary: Up to £15.60 per hour + bonus opportunities (OTE up to £40,000)

We're recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading commercial vehicle specialists, now looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to strengthen their team.

Key Responsibilities for a Mechanical Fitter
  • Work independently to meet build timelines and quality standards
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and works orders
  • Use hand tools, bench saws, and measurement equipment safely
  • Install insulated panels on commercial freezer bodies
  • Carry out electrical terminations for lighting, switches, and tail lifts
  • Seal joints, floors, and roofs using silicone and gel coatings
  • Cut metals, wood, and plastics using hand and bench tools
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping across workshops and vehicles
  • Support additional tasks and projects as required by management
  • Adhere to all health and safety, regulatory, and quality control procedures
What We're Looking For in a Mechanical Fitter
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
