Mechanical Fitter position in the Dewsbury area paying £45,427.20. Fully days-based role working Monday – Friday. The Role of the Mechanical Fitter

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and pipework across the site. Working in high-hazard areas, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.

Your duties will include:

  • Mechanical fitting and installation of plant equipment
  • Installation, modification and repair of process pipework
  • Working on pumps, valves, vessels and associated mechanical systems
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings, isometrics and P&IDs
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
  • Supporting shutdowns and improvement projects
  • Working in line with strict health, safety and permit-to-work procedures
What We’re Looking For
  • Time-served Mechanical Fitter or completed apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven pipefitting experience within industrial or process environments
  • Experience working in chemical, water treatment or high-hazard manufacturing sites.
  • Ability to work safely, independently and to a high standard.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
