Job summary

Job description
What you’ll do
  • Teach, assess, and support learners across Levels 2-3 in mechanical engineering disciplines
  • Deliver both practical and theoretical sessions in areas such as CNC programming, milling and turning, 3D printing, and CAD
  • Support learners in developing their technical understanding, employability, and problem‑solving skills
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and course development to meet employer and industry needs
  • Provide excellent support, guidance, and feedback to help learners achieve their full potential
  • Embed core themes such as health and safety, equality, and British values within your teaching
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance, and assessment
  • Engage with employers to support apprenticeships and work‑based learning opportunities
What we’re looking for
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one within an agreed timeframe, that we will provide the opportunity for)
  • Level 2 qualifications in English, Maths, and ICT (or willingness to achieve within timeframe)
  • In‑depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, turning, milling, advance turning, engineering drawing, CAD and maintenance & assemblies, CAD/CAM, and CNC programming
  • Experience teaching or mentoring others
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A flexible, collaborative, and proactive approach to teaching and learning
