Mechanical Engineer - Healthcare Environment

Salary: £19 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 15:30

Job Type: Temporary (3 months) - potential to go permanent

Location: Nottingham, NG7

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Estates & Facilities team within a healthcare environment. This role focuses on the safe and efficient operation of building services that support critical clinical areas. Ideal for candidates with strong mechanical skills and an interest in progressing to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC, boilers, chillers, steam and water systems.
  • Support the operation and upkeep of medical gas systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and perform corrective repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare safety and engineering standards.
  • Work alongside clinical and facilities teams to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
  • Assist with minor projects, upgrades and installation work.
Requirements
  • Mechanical engineering experience (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of building services systems (HVAC, plumbing, mechanical plant).
  • Ability to read technical drawings and complete maintenance records.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, reliable working approach.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:00.
