A leading facilities management company based near Little Chesterford is seeking a qualified Plumber/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This static role offers competitive salary up to £45k, 33 days holiday, overtime opportunities, and a strong focus on training and progression. The ideal candidate will be City & Guilds or NVQ qualified in plumbing and have experience in a commercial environment. Candidates must have good building services knowledge and can work in a team.

Plumber/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

My client is an established FM company looking for a qualified and experienced Plumber/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a team on a large static site near Little Chesterford. This is a great role for someone looking to join a company offering lots of progression and training. This is a static position, working Monday to Friday with overtime available.

Main Duties
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports.

  • Conduct Reactive and emergency breakdown tasks and complete the associated paperwork.

  • Be on a call out rota to provide the client with full out-of-hours cover.

  • Oversee visiting sub-contractors with regard to the standard of work and Health and Safety.

  • Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the portfolio.

  • Carry out all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.

  • Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.

  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

  • Daily PPM and Reactive Maintenance tasks including:

    • Plumbing

    • UPS system and associated control systems

    • Boiler room checks

    • Cooling towers

    • Fan coil units / AHU's / Fans

    • Heating Pumps

Ideal Candidate
  • City & Guilds / NVQ Plumbing or Mechanically Qualified (or equivalent).

  • Experience in a commercial environment.

  • Experience working within a hospital or R&D environment - Desired.

  • Good building services knowledge.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Be able to pass a DBS check.
