Job Description We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our collaborative Omics market team. As a Mechanical Engineering Consultant in the Omics team, you will contribute to the design and development of cutting‑edge tools for genomic and proteomic analysis – from novel assays and consumables to integrated benchtop instruments – alongside a multidisciplinary team of biologists, physicists and engineers. You will work on projects across the Life Science portfolio, shaping project proposals, leading and contributing to technical workstreams, and engaging directly with clients. Each project offers the opportunity to dive into new scientific domains, hone project leadership and client‑relationship skills, and help bring transformative technologies to market. Our work addresses real‑world challenges in precision medicine, synthetic biology, advanced therapy manufacturing, agricultural biotechnology and more. Projects are scientifically ambitious, commercially valuable, and socially impactful.

You Will Bring
  • Demonstrated mechanical engineering capability through a strong academic background and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Electromechanical system design and integration
    • Fluidics and microfluidics
    • Thermal management
    • Precision positioning and tolerance analysis
    • Specification and design of single‑use components
    • Proficient use of CAD tools such as SolidWorks and/or OnShape
    • Systems‑level thinking to support risk management and failure mode analysis
  • Professional engineering experience, typically developed over 2–8 years, in a regulated industry. Familiarity with ISO 13485 or similar quality systems is desirable.
