Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to apply for a Mechanical Design Engineer role within an established organisation that produces highly intricate components and assemblies for the Space, Aerospace Defence and Life Science markets. This workplace is easily commutable from Huddersfield, Wakefield, Barnsley, Leeds, Bradford, Halifax and Brighouse.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and introduction of new components and systems, while improving existing products.
  • Support manufacturing teams and provide technical guidance to non–technical teams
  • Prepare technical specifications, develop design standards, and document lessons learned.
  • Communicate and present technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply and manage company product development processes
  • Participate in design checking and peer review, risk assessment and continuous improvement activities

For the Mechanical Design Engineer role, we are keen to receive applications from individuals who possess:

  • Experience of working in a Mechanical Design Engineering position
  • Knowledge of technical drawing to BS8888
  • Degree level qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Skills in 3D CAD

Salary and Benefits of the Mechanical Design Engineer role:

  • Annual Salary: 40,000 – 50,000 depending on experience
  • Permanent full time contract, working 38 hours per week Monday – Friday on site
  • 25 days holiday entitlement (in addition to public holidays)
