Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably in SolidWorks.
  • Experience in designing high-precision mechanical assemblies.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes like CNC machining, casting, and additive manufacturing.
  • Hands-on FEA/CFD analysis experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own the mechanical development of advanced frequency products.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and design precision components.
  • Perform thermal and structural analysis for reliability.
  • Support electronics, systems, and manufacturing teams throughout projects.
  • Carry out CFD and FEA analysis and validation.

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: GBP30,000 – GBP50,000

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Job Description:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

  • Take full ownership of the mechanical development of advanced frequency products. This involves creating detailed 3D CAD models, selecting suitable materials, designing precision components, and performing thermal and structural analysis to ensure high reliability and performance.
  • Work closely with electronics, systems, and manufacturing teams, supporting projects from concept through prototype, validation, and final release.
  • Design housings, heatsinks, waveguide structures, test fixtures and other precision assemblies.
  • Carry out CFD and FEA analysis, validate assumptions through testing, and support both DFM/DFA activities and production‑scale manufacturing.
  • Contribute to environmental testing, reliability assessments, supplier support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ultimately, the Mechanical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering robust, high‑quality engineering solutions for mission‑critical applications.
