Job Title: Design Engineer | Location: Suffolk

An established UK-based engineering manufacturer is seeking a Design Engineer to join their Engineering Department. This role involves designing and developing innovative new products, improving existing designs, and contributing to the delivery of cost-effective solutions from concept to completion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, supporting new product development and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products using 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and part data in the MRP system
• Produce detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
• Support prototype testing, engineering calculations, and FEA analysis
• Maintain engineering control over revisions and compliance documentation

Qualifications

• Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Proficient in 3D CAD and engineering documentation standards
• Experience in product development and design for manufacture (DFM)
• IT literate with strong understanding of GD&T, materials, and tolerances
