Job summary

An advanced engineering company in Guildford is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to focus on engineering designs of structures and sub-assemblies in propulsion systems. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has experience with 3D modelling using SolidWorks. Responsibilities include producing manufacturing drawings, implementing design changes, and maintaining build logs. This role offers a contract inside IR35 at £45.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must currently hold or be eligible for SC level clearance.
• Preferably have experience in the space and defence sector.

The Role - Mechanical Design Engineer

We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a successful Advanced Engineering business. You will focus on the engineering design of structures and sub-assemblies used in wider propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

1. 3D modelling and design of components/systems.
2. Completion of manufacturing drawings.
3. Implementing design changes using Engineering Change Notices.
4. Writing detailed assembly procedures and technical build information.
5. Creating and maintaining build logs.
6. Creating BoMs and applying them to the MRP system.
7. Supporting the design of electronics enclosures.

Background

• Currently hold or be eligible for SC level clearance.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferably experience in the space and defence sector.
• Competent in using SolidWorks.
• Good attention to detail.
