Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking to work on complex electromechanical systems for hazardous environments? Join a growing engineering team that values creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence.

This role offers the opportunity to be involved in the full product development lifecycle – from initial concept and prototyping through to testing and final production. You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, precision-engineered solutions, with a focus on performance, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Lead or contribute to mechanical design projects from concept through to manufacture

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using 3D CAD

  • Produce and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, and assembly instructions

  • Design for manufacture using a range of techniques including sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining

  • Perform stress analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and materials selection

  • Liaise with suppliers and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness

  • Participate in prototype builds, testing, and validation activities

What We’re Looking For in a Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

  • Proven experience in 3D CAD

  • Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing processes

  • Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment and wearing multiple hats

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
