This is a hands-on role focused on vintage car restoration, particularly on heritage vehicles like Vintage Bentleys from 1920 to 1931. Qualifications

Overview

Mechanic / Technician Required

VBE Restorations is a world class restoration company looking to expand its team. We specialise in Vintage Bentleys built between 1920 and 1931 so this is a unique opportunity to work on heritage vehicles and vintage car restoration projects. We are seeking a highly motivated mechanic / maintenance engineer with a genuine passion for vintage vehicles. This is a hands-on role in vintage car restoration, offering varied work with very little repetition.

Responsibilities
  • General mechanics and mechanical fitting
  • Problem solving and mechanical fault diagnosis (without electrical diagnostic equipment)
  • Working with carburettors, mechanical brakes and manually-timed engines
  • Precision measurement with micrometers and verniers
  • Basic machining on lathes and milling machines
  • Vehicle electrics and basic auto electrical fault finding
  • Fabrication and welding (basic level)
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • At least 10 years experience as a tool maker, mechanic, maintenance engineer or mechanical engineer
  • Skilled in vehicle restoration and traditional mechanical fault diagnosis
  • Practical knowledge of workshop machining, fabrication, and automotive electrics
