Marylebone Cricket Club (the Club) is the world's most active cricket club, custodian of the laws of cricket and is also the owner of Lord's Ground, affectionately known as the “Home of Cricket”. The MCC and Lord's brands are renowned worldwide and are synonymous with excellence, prestige and providing an enjoyable customer experience, whether at an international cricket match with 31,000 spectators, or for Sunday Afternoon Tea in the Long Room.

About the Role

Working as part of a world-class stewarding team, you will play a crucial role in the three pillars of event operations: safety, security, and service. You'll be warm and welcoming, calm under pressure and provide a first-class service to all those who enter the Ground. You will have the confidence to direct the public, ensuring the safety and security of all staff, spectators, members and players are never compromised, and ensure ground regulations are followed at all times. You will act in line with the club's own standards and values: excellence, teamwork and integrity.

  • For majority of match days, a free meal is provided. This will either be a hot meal or a packed lunch.

Requirements
  • The demands of the cricket season mean extended hours of up to 12hrs for Test Matches and One Day International matches. Other matches may consist of 6-8hrs per match day.
  • This will include mid‑week and weekends match dates, candidates will need to be able to demonstrate personal resilience to manage this and still deliver their best work.
  • The ideal candidates will show strong customer focus and have the ability to work under pressure.
  • Previous experience as a Spectator safety in a sports venue would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Skills and ability assessment will form part of the selection process, you will be taught all you need to know to complete the skills and ability assessment.
