Job description
Overview

Prospero teaching is looking for tutors to work with schools, Local Authorities and Virtual Schools Teams across the North West. As well as private enquiries we work mainly with LAC and students who are often experiencing a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties and who are not often working to age-related levels. Therefore it would be ideal if you have some experience in this field. We are building a strong, professional and reliable team in areas such as Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Blackburn and Preston. If you hold a certificate in education or above and have a passion for working with a variety of young learners then we need you to join our team!

Responsibilities
  • Provide tutoring in school daytime hours, with popular time windows after school (3–4pm) and evenings. Sessions can range between 1–4 hours on a daily or weekly basis and can take place in a student’s home, at school or in a care home.
  • Respond quickly to referrals: when a referral is made, tuition should be put in place as soon as possible; be flexible and contactable to maximise timetable opportunities.
  • Work independently when tutoring off site, demonstrating strong organisation, punctuality and reliability to maintain the high standard of the team.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience

  • Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
Eligibility
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
